Terms & privacy

1. About CityFlip

CityFlip is an online board game where players buy cities, trade, build houses and hotels, and try to bankrupt each other. It is played for fun with friends, bots or other players. Nothing you win in a game has any money value.

2. Who can play

• You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for using online services on your own (for example 16 in some EU countries), you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
• One account per person. Accounts can’t be sold, shared or transferred.
• You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens on your account.
• Guest players can play without an email. A guest account lives in that browser only: if you clear your browser data or log out before saving it with an email and password, it can’t be recovered. Guest accounts that haven’t been used for 30 days are deleted.

3. 🪙 Coins (the game currency)

• Coins are earned by playing: a welcome gift, a daily bonus, games played to the end, missions and prizes from Competitive tables and tournaments.
• Coins are spent on entries to Competitive tables and tournaments. The winner takes the pool, minus a small table fee that leaves the game.
• Coins can’t be bought with money or diamonds, and they have no cash value. They can’t be withdrawn, exchanged, sold or sent to other players.

4. 💎 Diamonds, yellow gems and payments

• Yellow gems are given for free every time you reach a new level. They can be spent in the shop and can’t be bought, sold or sent to other players.
• Diamonds are a virtual item you can buy and spend in the shop on looks: tokens, frames and board themes. They don’t change how the game plays and can’t be turned into coins.
• Diamonds have no cash value. They can’t be withdrawn, exchanged for money or crypto, sold, or sent to other players.
• On the website, diamonds are bought with cryptocurrency through our payment provider, NOWPayments. Prices are shown in euros; you pay the same value in the coin you choose. In the mobile apps, diamonds are bought through Google Play or the App Store. The provider’s own terms also apply to the payment.
• Diamonds are added to your account once the payment is confirmed, usually within minutes. If a payment is short or expires, the order isn’t completed; contact us and we’ll sort it out with the provider.
• Because diamonds are digital content delivered straight away, you agree that the right to withdraw from the purchase (the 14-day cooling-off period) ends once the diamonds are added to your account. This doesn’t affect your rights if something went wrong, for example diamonds that were paid for but never arrived.
• Items you bought stay yours as long as your account exists. If we ever have to remove an item, we’ll give you the diamonds or gems back.
• If we close your account for breaking these terms, unused coins, gems and diamonds are lost.

5. Fair play

• No teaming up with other players against the rest of the table.
• No bots, scripts or tools that play for you, and no playing from more than one account in the same game.
• No abusing bugs. If you find one, please tell us.
• We may remove players from games, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

6. Chat and voice chat

• Be kind. No insults, hate, threats, spam, or sharing other people’s private information.
• Messages can be reported. Moderators can hide messages and suspend accounts.
• Voice chat goes directly between the players’ browsers. We don’t record or store it. Only join voice chat with people you’re happy to talk to; you can mute or leave at any time.

7. What we store (privacy)

• Your email address, username, token colour and, if you add one, your profile photo.
• Your password, stored only as a one-way scrambled hash. Nobody, including us, can read it.
• If you use Google sign-in: your Google account ID and email.
• Your games: tables you played, results, XP, achievements, missions, rating, friends and chat messages.
• Your coins history and diamond purchases: amount, price, payment status and the payment provider’s reference. We never see or store your crypto wallet keys or card details.
• For each device you log in from: the IP address, browser name and last activity time, so you can see and sign out your devices and we can stop abuse.
• If you turn on notifications: the address your browser gives us to send them.
• Cookies: one that keeps you logged in and one that remembers your language. Your browser also remembers a few settings (sound, game settings, a game in progress on one device). We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Your choices

• You can change your username, password, colour and photo on your account page.
• You can delete your account at any time from the account page. This removes your data permanently, except records we must keep by law (such as payment records for accounting).
• You can ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it by writing to the contact below.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. If the changes are important, we’ll tell you on the site before they apply.
